Article Body:
I. What is Advanced Health Massage?
Think of your body as a complex machine. Sometimes, parts get jammed, stiff, or just plain out of whack. Basic massage is like a quick tune-up, offering temporary relief. Advanced health massage, however, delves deeper, targeting the root cause of the problem. We're talking deep tissue massage, which works through layers of muscle to release chronic tension; myofascial release, addressing restrictions in the connective tissue; and trigger point therapy, focusing on those pesky knots that cause pain and discomfort. These techniques aren't just about relaxation; they're about addressing specific issues like chronic pain, muscle imbalances stemming from repetitive movements, or injuries sustained from sports or accidents.
II. Understanding Reflexology:
Reflexology is like a map of your body, but in miniature. It operates on the principle that specific points on your feet, hands, and ears correspond to different organs and systems in your body. By applying pressure to these reflex points, practitioners aim to stimulate energy flow and promote healing. Imagine it as gently nudging your body's natural self-healing mechanisms into action. It can be incredibly effective for stress reduction, as the gentle pressure and focus on relaxation can melt away tension. Moreover, improved circulation, a key benefit of reflexology, can help deliver essential nutrients to your tissues and remove waste products, leaving you feeling invigorated and refreshed.
III. Combining Advanced Massage and Reflexology:
Now, imagine the power of combining these two modalities! The synergistic effect of advanced massage and reflexology is truly remarkable. Think of it as a comprehensive approach to wellness, addressing both physical and energetic imbalances. Advanced massage might release muscle tension, while reflexology could then help to further promote relaxation and improve circulation in the affected areas. A qualified practitioner will tailor the treatment to your specific needs, blending techniques to achieve optimal results. You can expect to experience profound relaxation, reduced pain, improved flexibility, and a greater sense of overall well-being.
IV. Finding a Qualified Practitioner:
Choosing the right practitioner is crucial. Don't settle for just anyone; find a licensed and experienced professional. Ask about their certifications, their experience with your specific condition, and their approach to treatment. A good practitioner will listen to your concerns, thoroughly assess your needs, and create a personalized treatment plan. Your first session should involve a consultation to discuss your health history and goals. You should feel comfortable and safe throughout the entire process.
V. Maintaining the Benefits:
The benefits of advanced massage and reflexology extend far beyond the treatment table. Maintaining good posture, engaging in regular gentle exercise, and managing stress through techniques like meditation or deep breathing are all crucial for long-term well-being. The frequency of your sessions will depend on your individual needs and goals, but regular maintenance can help prevent issues from recurring.
Conclusion:
Advanced health massage and reflexology offer a powerful pathway to improved health and well-being. By addressing the root causes of pain and imbalance, these therapies unlock your body's natural healing potential. Investing in your health through these modalities is an investment in a happier, healthier, and more vibrant you.

| advanced health massage reflexology: Total Reflexology of the Hand Martine Faure-Alderson, 2016-05-17 How to apply the precise treatment techniques of Total Reflexology, which combines craniosacral therapy and foot reflexology, to the hands • Explains the special relationship between the hand and the brain, making hand reflexology ideal for treatment of neurological, mental, and emotional disorders • Details how to use the occipital zones of craniosacral therapy to pinpoint which zones and points on the hands to treat • Includes full-color detailed maps of the pressure points and zones of the hands One of the most defining physical characteristics of humanity, the hands contain reflex zones and pressure points related to the systems and organs of the body just like the feet. The reflex zones and points of the hands present the most effective means of treating psychological and neurological disorders due to their sophisticated relationship with the brain. Applying her ground-breaking combination of reflexology and craniosacral therapy to the hands, Dr. Martine Faure-Alderson explains how to use hand reflexology to treat the brain and each of the body’s systems, from the digestive system to the human energetic system. She provides precise full-color mapped hand diagrams illustrating the exact placement of the points according to the bones of the hands, the result of more than 40 years of research and clinical practice. She explains how to use the occipital zones of craniosacral therapy to pinpoint which zones and points on the hands to treat. Examining the psychological level of brain-hand interactions, the author reveals how neurological dysfunctions and mental disorders respond more readily to hand reflexology than to other forms of therapies. She explains how many physical ailments have a psychological component and how reflexology automatically triggers the release of endorphins by working directly on the autonomic nervous system. The author explores the role of nutritional supplements, including Omega 3s, as a support to reflexology therapy and shows how finely tuned reflexology stimulates the body’s self-healing abilities and cellular regeneration, making this an indispensable resource for holistic health practitioners and for home self-care. |

| advanced health massage reflexology: Complementary Medicine in Australia and New Zealand Hans Baer, 2015-07-17 In the late nineteenth century on the eve of the formation of Australia as a nation-state in 1902, the Australian medical system could be best described as a pluralistic one in the sense that while regular medicine constituted the predominant medical system, it was not clearly the dominant one in that regular physicians faced competition from a wide array of alternative practitioners. As regular medicine increasingly assumed the guise of being scientific, it evolved into biomedicine and developed a link with corporate and state interests in the early twentieth century in Australia, as in other capitalist developed societies. Relying upon state support, Australian biomedicine has achieved dominance over alternative medical system, such as homeopathy, herbal medicine, osteopathy, chiropractic, and naturopathy. Various social forces, particularly the development of the holistic health movement, have served to challenge biomedical dominance in Australia, like elsewhere. What started out as a popular health movement in the early 1970s has evolved into the professionalized entity that is generally referred to as 'complementary medicine' in Australia (as opposed to 'complementary and alternative medicine' in the US and UK). Complementary medicine in Australia encompasses many medical systems and therapies. Since the 1980s certain heterodox medical systems, particularly chiropractic, osteopathy, acupuncture and Chinese medicine, naturopathy, Western herbalism, and homeopathy, have achieved considerable recognition from the Australian state, either at the federal level or at the state and territorial levels. Indeed, the Australian state appears to have gone further than any other Anglophone country in terms of providing public funding for complementary medicine education. Conversely, it has committed a limited amount of funding for complementary medicine research compared to the United States. |

Often used for stress relief, autogenic training can also be used for asthma, chronic pain, migraines, constipation, anxiety, panic attacks, and a host of other conditions. In this book, James Endredy takes autogenic training to a new level, revealing how to use AT practices to optimize health as well as reawaken your senses, reconnect with Nature and tap into the vast knowledge and power of the universe. Beginning with the 7 standard formulas of AT, the author provides step-by-step instructions for 40 AT and primal mind techniques. He explains how to add specific healing affirmations and visualizations to your AT practice as well as how to work with colors and the chakras. He offers advanced trainings to rekindle your primal touch sensitivity, experience enhanced sight and hearing, and awaken your primal sense of smell. He reveals how to use AT to restore our primal connection to the world of Nature through practices such as Forest Bathing, Nature’s Breath, and Primal Fire Connection. Drawing on more than 25 years of experience living and working with indigenous cultures, including the Huichol, Iroquois, Sioux, Maya, and Hopi, Endredy shows how, much like a vision quest, this unique combination of AT and primal mind awareness offers rites of passage sorely missing from modern life. It gives you the tools to go deeper into your physiological being, to directly experience how we relate to the world, and to reconnect with the ancient wisdom within each of us. |

| advanced health massage reflexology: Alternative Medicine and Rehabilitation Stanley F. Wainapel, Dr. Avital Fast, MD, 2003 Wainapel and Fast, both with Albert Einstein College of Medicine/ Montefiore Medical Center in New York, point out the irony of the speciality of physical medicine and rehabilitation having been considered a form of alternative medicine 50 years ago. Rather than being a practice manual or comprehensive survey of alternative medicine, this volume reflects the evolution of alternative medicine to an integrative/complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) seeking to combine the best of both worlds. Most of the 19 contributed chapters offer evidence-based treatments of such adjuncts to rehabilitation medicine for neurologic and other disorders as chiropractic, massage, yoga, meditation, biofeedback, hypnosis, acupuncture, nutritional therapy, and magnet therapy. Others discuss recent NIH-funded research, specific CAM treatment approaches, payment for CAM services, and professional literature issues. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR |
